Sasha Faris

At the age of 7, Sasha Faris knew he wanted to be on the ice. He began taking figure skating lessons at a local club and continued his career for nearly 15 years.

He had a successful career competing at regional, provincial and National level competitions. The thought of transferring to speed skating was always an idea tossed around but finally became a reality in 2014.

From there, Faris left his job in Vancouver to up route his life to Calgary to train with the Speed Skating Development team at the Olympic Oval and pursue his dream of being on the ice again.

His goals are ambitious with the dreams of making it to the World Cup circuit and possibly the next Olympic Games.

Faris is the co-founder of Team Crossover Speed Skating.
