Austin Belchos
Austin Belchos began his skating career by way of competitive inlining. At the age of 10, Austin joined a local club in his native home of Toronto, Ontario. His career spanned over the course of 10 years in which he competed at a high level.
Belchos had the opportunity to represent Canada at the Pan-American Games. He is no stranger to training at an elite level as was invited to train with the US national team.
It was a natural progression for Belchos to make the transfer over to long track speed skating as he comes from a family rich with long track talent, including his brother who is a currently a Canadian National Team member. Austin is a natural long distance skater, competing in 3000, 5000, and 10,000-meter races.
Austin plans on obtaining his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Calgary in the coming years. He also enjoys playing games on Playstation 4 and riding his bike in the summer months.
