Gary Trembinski
Born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Gary Trembinski is the oldest of three brothers. He started playing hockey at the age of seven, which would eventually lead him to move to Ottawa, Ontario to pursue his dream of making it somewhere in hockey. Overcoming injury was one of Trembinski's toughest challenges. In June of 2009, Gary underwent shoulder surgery to repair the frequent shoulder dislocations he would ensue. A year after his surgery, Gary upped and moved to Ottawa.
He attended the University of Ottawa, first playing for the Cumberland Bandits from September 2010 until December 2010, then shortly after Christmas he signed with the Arnprior Packers. He finished off his season well and looked forward to next year.

During the summer of 2011, Gary attended the Cumberland Grads import camp in Ottawa. A week after a successful camp with the Grads, Gary was on the ice training where he tripped and dislocated his shoulder once again, ultimately ending his hockey career.
Gary looked at another surgery to repair the damage, but found that the six month rehabilitation period would interfere with most of his season. Still going to the rink training lightly, Gary's father, Gary Sr. picked him up one day and mentioned the idea of trying a new sport. By the time the ride home was over, they both came up with the sport of Speed Skating.
Since that summer day in August 2011, Gary has fully committed himself to the life of a high performance athlete. Gary currently skates on one of Canada’s top speed skating teams, the Oval Program, under the guidance of one of Canada’s Olympic coaches, Todd McClements.
Trembinski is the co-founder of Team Crossover Speed Skating.
