Jordan Henkelman

Henkelman moved to Calgary, Alberta at the age of four and began short track speed skating the following year. Jordan competed in the national circuit for short track speed skating from 2007 until 2014.

Throughout his short track career, Jordan had a consistently high ranking at national competitions. His best placing was second. Jordan had the opportunity to compete in the 2011 Canada Winter Games in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Henkelman was one of the top 500-meter short track speed skaters in Canada, however he came just short of qualifying for Short Track Junior World Championships. Jordan began to think to himself, “why not try long track speed

skating?” After making a part time switch, Jordan went on to represent Canada at the 2014 Long Track World Junior Championships in Bjugn, Norway.

After spectacular results, Henkelman made the transition full time to long track where he continues to perform at the best of his abilities. Henkelman believes that long track speed skating is his best shot at representing his country on the world stage once again.
